Writer/Director Romany Malco Jr. (Weeds, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) stars as “Tijuana Jackson” in this wickedly raw comedy that deftly navigates between moments of frenetic laughter and gut punches of genuine pain. Jackson, “an aspiring world-renowned motivational speaker,” is being followed by a documentary film crew due to his impending release from prison. With his sidekick Lil’ Eric, played by Central Florida local Alkoya Brunson (Atlanta, Hidden Figures), the ex-con’s reality-show dreams are set on a collision course with his court-mandated probation. The always brilliant Regina Hall (Girls Trip, the Scary Movie franchise) dazzles as Jackson’s parole officer and prospective love interest, and Tami Roman (Basketball Wives) rounds out the cast as Jackson’s sister Sharea. Shot on location in Miami, Ft Lauderdale, and Orlando, Prison Logic is a wildly funny and surprisingly poignant look at one man’s quest to dispense his hard-earned wisdom to people and change their lives forever.
